Treasures of Decay

“I look for beauty in objects that others might consider ugly.”

Urban exploration is the exploration of man-made structures, usually abandoned ruins of industrial or personal nature, like a factory, prison, castle, or old farmhouse. Photography and historical interest/documentation are heavily featured in this hobby and, although it sometimes involves trespassing onto private property, this is not always the case and is of innocent intention.

The unwritten rule is not to cause damage to the structure, either when entering or photographing the premises. Showing the various stages of decay as nature claims back what man took away presents unique opportunities to capture beauty.

“Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints.”
